UNIT 1. The internet and other addictions.



BEHIND ADICTTIONS 

When we think about addictions, we may focus only on the most common addictions, such as alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, coffee among others ... however, there is a long list of addictions that we probably do not know. Nowadays people are overwhelmed with technology and social media.
Therefore dealing with this issue I set out to investigate the most common addictions in our country as well as the consequences they cause in society. In an article under the signature of Listin Diario, written by Doris Pantaleon, where she states: "Addiction is one of the components that make the country a fertile ground of citizen insecurity and crime says Tapounet Brugal. This explains it in the fact that, other factors come into it, such as the lifestyle that society it is modeling its citizens, where the material predominates, the lack of values, the superficial, the lack of principles, and the search for the easy money, where the human being feels important many times for external things".
Therefore we must pay attention to the additions that affect us and make the decisions and to look for strategies to avoid the deterioration of the dominican society.
Nowadays people, who seek to fill their ego, seek the approval of others which results in a crisis such as anxiety and other diseases that are caused when they do not receive the expected approval of others.

Unir 1  The internet and others addictions Justt like Bill, i think there are lots of people having this kind of addictions. I can tell You My own experience because i' ve been there before, i know how it feels not to use the internet when you were used to. The sintoms could be almost the same as when you are depressed. You feel sad, alone, you don't want to eat, etc.  I asked some people what do they feel when they don't have data or internet and these were dime answerss: Rubí: I feel bored, i never know what to do.  Nairobi: I don't feel sad. For me it is the same thing to have it ir not. Elizabeth: I can't solve My everyday problems. The worse thing is when you don't have data nor money. I remember once, i didn't have data and only had 100 DOP. I took the money i had to recharge my phone and put data. The Internet and the other addiction

The internet addiction.       Fist of all, for me the internet is a new technology that has impacted the world and provided many benefits of its users. At the same time internet has had a negative impacts, some people are becoming preoccupied with the internet, are incapable to control their use. The internet has becoming a incontrolable addiction it can damage your family, work and you relationship. Some people think that internet addiction it isn’t real but for me it’s,  I often see how the families are destroyed due to this addiction because the husband is passing hours seeing pornography or the wife chat-room lovers,  also, people are loosing their life savings on gambling web sites online. In my opinion we needs to be careful in how we use the internet and for, because believe or not the internet can be a headache in your life or a benefit; it going to depend  on how you use and manage  it.

Unit 6 - Spiritual Renewal All around the world we can find many people that practice different ritual. We have different religions and each person go to their favorite or just the one they feel comfortable with. In this unit, called “spiritual renewal” we analyzed  the different rituals that some people practice. The one that call my attention the most was “fasting” which is a practice made in different religions. Fasting is when someone decided to stop eating for a specific time with a purpose. Most of the reasons are spirituals. I think this is a beautiful practice that people decide to do. I have never done it but it I could I would. I really like the spiritual practice, it just get ourselves more relax, and algo help us to get closer to God. I think everybody should have their own spiritual practice  in order to get closer to each of us. It is amazing when many people from an specific church get together to create an spiritual environment.
