Unit 2: Honesty Is The Best Policy Honesty can be defined as the fact of not doing the things that are morally wrong. A honest person can always reach a lot of things and be loved by people, while dishonest people will always be rejected from society, that’s why Honesty is the best policy. Living a honest life is pleasant, is just wonderful when people tell you “you’re sincere”. As a society we have to change because this is not a trivial matter, this is something that tell others what you really are and that’s why... Admit when you do something wrong, even if you’ll get in trouble, remember that you are not being honest if you deny something that you really did. Do not conceal anything because at the end of the day “THE TRUTH” comes out.

The Tipping Point The Tipping Point is a time during an activity or process when an important decision has to be made or when a situation changes completely. It means that is a moment when an important change happens. Throughout my life, I have had a lot of tipping points, but I regard the following three of them as the most important. First one was the moment when I graduated for my first career; it happened on June 14 th 2012. I was pretty happy due to I became formally an accountant. In addition, another important moment in my life was when I got married. It was an unforgettable moment because I joined my life to a wonderful person. The Bold and the Bashful. Bashfulness is the quality  of being very shy . It is the condition of feeling nervous and uncomfortable with other people. In addition, this condition is often linked to low self-esteem . There are several causes of being a shy person, such as: interactions with parents (authoritarian  or overprotective parents), highly critical work environments and public humiliation . On the other hand, shyness is considered as a negative condition in some countries, but in others it is considered as a positive one. In reference to this topic, I consider myself as a shy person because I have sometimes felt tense during social encounters, especially with unfamiliar people .   This situation can be attributed to the overprotection of my parents when I was a little girl. However, it is important to say that I have enhanced this condition over the years.

being shy  is the  feeling  of  apprehension ,  lack of comfort , or  awkwardness  especially when a person is around other people. In my personal opinion shyness is no good on some occasions, let say that you are looking for a job assisting customer, cause of you are shy you won't be able to help the cust.

The tipping poin t is the point at which a series of small changes or incidents becomes significant enought to cause a large, more important change (google). A tipping point in my life was when I moved from San Juan to Santo Domnigo. I think it was a tipping point because I had to change my life almost completely. Everything I did in San Juan I would not cotinue to do in Santo Domingo. For example, I was not longer going to live in the same house, I woukd not study in the same university, I would not visit the same places I used to visit in my town, I would not have the same friends and work in the same place. But in spite of everything I think it was the best decision I could make in my life so far.

This unit was about the bold and the shy people.   I can define myself as a bold person, because I think I am positve person all the time. I really like to be with others. I respect other people views, decisions making, because I do not have to give my opinion if you do not ask me. I enjoy getting to places that I do not know anyone and start making new friends. I can say that in the past I was a shy person because all the time I was alone and I had phobia of socializing with others. In that moment of my life I had lower self-esteem because I did not feel confortable with myself and for that reason I did not have many friends. People thought I was aloof.  So I understood that I had to change and what I did was to break the ice and start socializing and making new friends. I think I am now a nice and outgoing person.

             The Tipping Point.     What is the tipping point? It's a series of small changes or incidents more important moment or change.       My tipping point a few years ago when I was a teenager. I remember that I had a neighbor who used to invite me to the church but I was not sure about it so I turned her down. It was not until one day that I decided to take her offer and go with her. Since that day I became into a Christian and started workshipping to GOD. A day that I'd never forget because it changed my life.

                   The Bold and the Bashful.         The bashful means shy, timid and introvert. Bashful and shy are similar in meaning but not quite identical.           The Bold is showing an ability to take risks, confident and courageous.   I sometimes feel nervous when I must speak in public. When I'm talking in the classroom, in the church or I have to explain something in a presentation or preach, I'm used to get nervous almost all the time in those scenarios, most of the time I get down and stop talking. But that shyness is just when I begin to speak, afterwards I rid off that feeling and I start to encourage myself.      I'm more bashful than bold.

I think shyness is not only a big problem, it is also a sign of lack of security and low self-esteem.  This can be a big problem since it can affect your day and is very difficult to control.  One option would be to go to therapy and see where the problem is to find the solution. Another option is to yourself what the problem is?, but it is dependent of the person.

Honesty is the most important thing in the world. It is your introduction to the society and according to your level of honesty they see you and treat you all around you.  Regardless of your social class or your origins as it is a quality of each and a great merit of their own.

Unit 1: The internet and Other Addictions  The internet addiction has been becoming into one of most crucial deseases of the time, as far as technology is concerned. Everybody knows that the internet came to better our life, but we are out of control with it. People spend too much time online doing nonsense things and that is a big problem. I’m of the ones who say that if you use the internet to increase your knowledge is alright, but when you do nothing with it, you are just wasting your time. However, I have to say that some people use the internet to get the stress out by watching  things on the social media, and that is not a bad idea. So , I also have to admit that we are in “the digital age” and because of that internet addiction is such as common thing. This addition can be reflected in different ways, like for example, some people are compulsive shoppers, when they don’t have internet they feel sad and depressive and others even feel  anxious when they are using...

My Biography: My name is Elvis David Figuereo Reyes and I’m 23 years old. I was born in Barahona, where I lived part of my life until I turned 20 years old. There, I used to play baseball, basketball and do whatever I liked as any young guy, so I can say I really enjoyed my childhood. However, when I turned 20 years old I had to move to Santo Domingo to continue my studies because my career was not in UASD-Barahona. I had to leave my friends and family to look forward something better for me and it was hard at the beginning, but as time went by I realized that I took the best decision and I learned how to live without my parents. Now, I’m at the end of my career and I’m very proud of myself because of what I have learned through all these years living in Santo Domingo.

                                   Honesty According to Wikipedia meaning, Honesty is a facet of moral character that connotes positive and virtuous attributes such as integrity, truthfulness, straightforwardness, including straightforwardness of conduct, along with the absence of lying, cheating, theft, etc. Honesty also involves being trustworthy, loyal, fair, and sincere. If we want to observe in political path, and  ask ourselves, does really honesty in it? No one believes in nobody because foolishness is always used. That is a shame. If we want to our country enhance the leaders first have to be honest, thus, the people will follow them. The laws must be respected. That the way other countries could avance, punish the guilty, the liers, and the foolers. If the politics men do not want to apply honesty, people will not either , nor the students  because you reap what you sow . So...

                                              Honesty Honesty is turning into a hardship battle within humanity. Throughout years finding honest people has become more difficult and rare, it seems to be that telling the truth is a mortal practice. But the problem here is not only people not telling the truth to others, but also the lack of honesty with themselves. How can you pretend being honest if you lie to you? We have to acknowledge that sometimes being sincere is kind of difficult as some truths can be “painful”, but despite of this, lying is more tedious and difficult, by lying you are just lengthen something that will be inevitable and you will end up causing more harm. I invite you to place yourself in others people’s foot before being dishonest with someone, would you like others to lie to you?
